Captain Bruce White – Ambassador

Captain Bruce White has been a part of the Boothbay Harbor waterfront for many years. When he was just two weeks old, his parents took him for his first boat ride, and let’s just say, he has been hooked ever since. Over the years, Bruce’s passion for being around boats grew. He started his boating career serving when he was in his teens, working aboard the historic Boothbay Harbor tour boat, Argo, under local legend, Captain Elliot Winslow. Bruce obtained his captain’s license by the time he was 19 years old and is licensed by the US Coast Guard for vessels up to 100 tons. He spends his summers aboard the charter vessel HAY-VAL and the fishing vessel Lady Esther chartering tours and giving lobster fishing demonstrations to visitors of the region. In the winter, you may see him cruising up and down the East Coast delivering yachts from their summer climate to their winter berths. When not on the water, Bruce can be found enjoying the incredible ski slopes of western Maine.

RETRIEVER – 28′ SPECMAR

The latest addition to the fleet, Retriever was built locally in 2019 specifically for Portland Sea Taxi. She is an aluminum construction, asymmetrical hull catamaran that has proven to be an ideal design for Maine waters. Fast and comfortable, she is a very stable boat with plenty of comfortable seating both inside the heated cabin and out on deck.

PARKER

This is the workhorse of Portland Sea Taxi. Parker has been a reliable do-all asset for over 5 years. The large beam and expansive aft deck make this a stable vessel with lots of room outside. Her wide cabin makes Parker comfortable in all weather, with cozy cabin heat for winter months.

Sea Taxi – 28′ T. Jason 28

Our traditional Maine lobster boat hull. The Water Taxi is everyone’s favorite, including our captains. The Terry Jason ’28 Downeast is a time tested design that has been a favorite of New England fishermen for decades. Our Yanmar powered T Jason is a solid work boat that also has that great picnic boat feel.
